A web platform created for the 30th anniversary of the World Wide Web, exploring its social, technical, cultural, and legal history through interactive timelines. Starting from Tim Berners-Lee's 1989 hypertext proposal at CERN (originally named "Information Mesh") the platform traces thirty years of evolution across multiple thematic layers.
The site collects the projects made by Media & Interaction Design students at University of Art and Design Lausanne, in partnership with Swissnex San Francisco, as part of the Swissnex Salon series examining technology's impact on fundamental societal values. A re-visitation of the original optimism surrounding the Web while engaging critically with where those ideals stand today.
